2011 BMW K1600GT & K1600GTL BMW is just starting to release the first bits of information related to their 2011 motorcycle lineup, including what promises to be an amazing new 6 cylinder touring platform unlike anything the world has ever seen. Because the European motorcycle show season has started we now have new pictures and videos that you can check out at our K1600 info page. Of course, these two drawings were the early concept pieces BMW created while developing theK1600GT and K1600GTL which are scheduled to be delivered to dealers in spring of 2011. Given BMW's years of experience building some of the most reliable and powerful inline 6-cylinder automotive powerplants in the world, expectations are high for this new motor and extension of the BMW K-bike family. BMW has created a special website for the new 6 cylinder K-bikes which you can check out by visiting this webpage:http://www.tourer-2010-en.com/index/the.future.of.touring .
For now, we do know that these K1600's are going to offer (amongst other things) the most advanced headlight assembly the motorcycling world has ever seen. This adaptive headlight represents another major step forward for motorcycling safety and we hope to see similar systems on all motorcycles in the future. Looks like, once again, the rest of the motorcycling world is going to have to play catch-up with BMW's safety department! |
